Re: Visiting His Holiness the 17th Gyalwang Karmapa, Ogyen Trinley Dorje

When i may ask, why can His Holiness not visit Rumtek Monastery, which is the Head Monastery of Kagyu ? [/quote] Why he cannot visit Rumtek ? .....its a long, long story..... perhaps the Indian govt could help with that one also..... He has only recently been given permission to travel to Sikkim...w...

Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche UK visit

Chokyi Nyima to visit Gomde UK 25 - 30 August 2018 It is with great joy that we announce Rinpoche’s visit to Gomde UK in 2018. Re: Ole Nydahl´s sectarian meltdown

What would be Ole’s view on someone( a student of his let’s say) receiving transmissions from Ayang Rinpoche. Since he himself received the Phowa transmission from Ayang Rinpoche.?
Is this attitude of sticking to one teacher the same approach that Lama Jampa Thaye in his Dechen community takes?

Re: Karmapa OTR free to visit Sikkim

Has anyone heard anything about HH Karmapa accepting the invitation to visit Sikkim. So far he is making plans to teach in USA and Canada this summer so I am wondering when this visit would take place.

Re: "Wild Wild Country" - Osho documentary on Netflix

I wonder how the film would pan out if it were about Trungpa and Shambhala in those days. We would see a group who seemed to play out with militarism, there was sexual abusive activity, there was an adoring group of followers and a charismatic leader who liked dressing up. Those times...70’s and 80’...

Re: Karmapa OTR is not happy, speaks out

I see no reason to close this down. In fa t I see many reasons to keep it open. I find it a little sad that people will not even put aside thirty minutes to watch the video but just want a summary. Hopefully much good will come from this honesty of the Karmapa.

Sutra are the best, forget about the rest! Tantra is not worth considering if one has not developed bodhicitta (wisdom and compassion). Is there any way to develop bodhicitta without studying sutras? Can you please give me some tips How to develop bodhicitta using simple methods ? ( I tend to get d...

Re: Dharani of Glorious Vajra claws / Dorje Dermo

Matthew, many of your questions relate to using vajrayana methods to resolve issues or clear obstacles. Vajrayana has so many methods but most teachers recommend that we lay a foundation of understanding through learning, contemplating first. I would receommend you seek advice from a teacher. I bel...

Re: Pagan Deity Propitiation by Dharma Siblings

If you make offering to mundane deities you can reborn in their retinue. Something to avoid, we want to free from samsara. Brahma, god, bad spirits, good spirits, etc. Regarding mundane beings i would reccomend only make contact with beings who have and keep samaya, like local guardians. So if we m...
