Re: Refuge and the different school of Tibetan Buddhism.

Always good to remember that you dont take refuge in a lama or a lineage you take refuge in the three jewels. One thing i remember very well from the lama who gave me refuge vows was' dont think taking refuge is joining a club'

Re: How to stop orgasms during meditation?

Unusual but like everything else...just be aware of it. In face orgasms are a great time to recognize nature of mind.. so remain mindful, relaxed, aware.

Monks and sex

Good title eh? All i am really asking here is do all tibetan monks take a vow of complete celibacy, as i believe the theravada monks do. Secondly i believe theravada monks can be excommunicated/ disrobed for breaking such a vow. What happens in Tibetan monasticism..can one repair the vow and then co...

Re: General questions on getting started

Hi I used to travel about 1 and half hours from my dharma centre and tried to get there every couple of weeks, usually staying overnight or longer. Not sure how far you are from yours. My current dharma centre, one i have been connected with for the last few years is about 5 hours away so dont het t...

Re: Successful empowerment and conferral of samaya?

Many comments on here about the fragility of samaya when a Rinpoche rolls into town, gives empoerment and then disappears again..not knowing the students and students not knowing him...the dharma centre oromoting the event heavily advertising event wherever it can. However from personal experience i...

Re: Very sad news: Letter to Sogyal Rinpoche / Abuse allegations

 I want to know how deep I am in samaya. ChNN manifested sickness after I sent questions to him with e-mail on 11th of May 2017. Is this my fault? Oh lord, no. You should not think that way at all. This is the danger of having a teacher whom you cannot communicate with and therefore end up as...

Re: Very sad news: Letter to Sogyal Rinpoche / Abuse allegations

I had a wonderful time, I am home again now. :) /magnus Great, it was a short trip then. How was DKJR? Yes, the empowerments and teachings was a Friday to Sunday thing, I was one week in Sydney all together. DJKR was pretty amazing in person. He was, for example, talking about his fear of the decli...

I agree. Now is not the time to continue with our negative speech and emotions but to make an aspiration that they will continue the path without obstacle.

Re: Dzogchen teachers in Kathmandu

Not everything shiny is gold, we like to say where I come from. If you are looking for dzogchen teaching, more than often you end up with a long boring talk, especially in Kathmandu. Look for wisdom, humbleness and compassion. I am wondering what wiuld classify as a long boring talk? Unless i get d...

Re: Practicing dharma as a pair

Hi. Yes my wife and myself are both trying to be practitioners...we practice in same lineage and have same teachers. I do regard this situation as being hugely fortunate. Quite often we practice together but also practice alone. This is on the instructions of one of our teachers.. to practice alone ...

Re: Very sad news

Well Ken Holmes wrote on his FB page that the 16th Karmapa predicted this. It can be found in the comments here . And if we want to quote a different teacher/ point of view. "Sogyal Rinpoche’s level of practice is extremely high, he is extremely realised—Nyoshul Khen Rinpoche told me this himself. ...

Re: Beginner's questions

Congratulations for having the good fortune to have access to a temple/ lama/ dharma...this itself is very rare. Propable your questions need to be answered by a member of the community there. Centres vary slightly from place to place... mainly at first be respectful, dress respectfully, notice what...
