Re: Dzogchen teachers in Kathmandu

Not everything shiny is gold, we like to say where I come from. If you are looking for dzogchen teaching, more than often you end up with a long boring talk, especially in Kathmandu. Look for wisdom, humbleness and compassion. I am wondering what wiuld classify as a long boring talk? Unless i get d...

Re: Practicing dharma as a pair

Hi. Yes my wife and myself are both trying to be practitioners...we practice in same lineage and have same teachers. I do regard this situation as being hugely fortunate. Quite often we practice together but also practice alone. This is on the instructions of one of our teachers.. to practice alone ...

Re: Very sad news

"Sogyal Rinpoche’s level of practice is extremely high, he is extremely realised—Nyoshul Khen Rinpoche told me this himself. ...

Re: Beginner's questions

Congratulations for having the good fortune to have access to a temple/ lama/ dharma...this itself is very rare. Propable your questions need to be answered by a member of the community there. Centres vary slightly from place to place... mainly at first be respectful, dress respectfully, notice what...

Re: Prayer Book

Each tradition has its own ' prayer book'. Lhasey Lotsawa website has many great liturgies which you can practice some with. And some without enpowerment. A great place to start would be Treasury of Blessings a liturgy of Shakyamuni Buddha composed by the great Nyingma master Mipham Rinpoche. If you...

Hi Tharpa. Welcome. Hi. Also, for what it's worth I have a degree in Asian Studies with an emphasis on Indian Buddhism from University of Texas in Austin and took two years of Sanskrit. I really don't know much, but the fascination remains one of my greatest passions in life. I think having this ki...

Agreeing with Gregoris. Despite Sogyal Rinpoche's alleged faults, you can learn a great deal there. Go into it with eyes wide open.

Dont forget Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche, from Ka Nying Shedrub Ling in Boudha. He is the eldest son of TUR. Every November a seminar and retreat, usually based on dzogchen/ mahamudra instructions on recognizing nature of mind. Cultural dancing and dressing up

I hear on here a lot from dzogchen community members that dzogchen is free from cultrues, religion, even buddhism. Why do members therefore engage in tibetan dance and dressing up as tibetans? Just been watching a you tube video..' body, energy and mind' where westerners seem to be appropriating all...

Re: Remote Teaching Centres and Programmes

I have been following / practicing the Triple Excellence for some years now and can highly recommend it. It is pretty challenging at times( the content) and is defo not dharma lite. But it is a gradual path through the foundational vehicle..to mahayana and into vajraana vehicles.. moving into mahamu...
