It's good to see them persisting.
The go and hide for a while approach probably wont work this time.

Re: "Forgiveness Is Not Buddhist" Article by McLeod in Tricycle

Bottom line of the article appears to be: My concern here is that in today’s world, many people who practice Buddhism seem to feel that when someone forgives them, they have been absolved and the matter ends there. Forgiveness in their minds completes the transaction, albeit not as it would have en...

Re: The Real "Dark Age"

Vajrayana practitioners should not disparage their Master, so the vow says. However, I can see no reason not to expose and hold to account those who are abusive as they immediately disqualify themselves from any samaya relationship as far as I'm concerned. I don't believe samaya includes silent suf...

Re: The Real "Dark Age"

The dark age is marked by tulkus mocking victims of sexual abuse on the internet. True. Tulku means little to me... These events have woken me up from behind my tinted glasses !! Had to happen at some point , was thinking anyone who could comprehend the conquerors truth would at least attempt...

Re: Dealing With Afflictions

So it says this yana deals with ignorance, attachment, anger, pride and jealously these ways etc etc? Yes. It covers the afflictions from the scope of different yanas and beings of different capacities while discussing the different outcomes for those dispositions. Can you please tell me the pages?...

Re: The Future

I'm finding all the comments on this subject very interesting. I hope Greg is right, though. And so which of you can tell me if that story about the prophecy, you know the one where the Dharma spreads when the iron horse or whatnot flies (i'm obviously mangling it badly) is an apocryphal legend, or...

Apocryphal legend or not, the land of red faces is most likely Tibet, not the West.

The West is the land of the blue-eye demons :stirthepot:
Many Tibetans have blue eyes.
You're joking, right?
No, not at all.

Re: Worldly wish fulfilling mantras?

Any specific suggestions? My main point is in relation to the majority of practitioners, that are far less advanced in their practice. Realistically speaking, in most cases it takes up a lot of time that could be spent practicing/studying, and it also creates strong negative emotions. I love Nyoshu...

I don't realize that actually :D Why are they contributors? Read those namthars :) Having a "consort" is often said to be a contributor to long life and creating advantageous for practice, transmission, and terma (in certain individuals of course). Not to mention the numerous western scientific stu...

Re: Worldly wish fulfilling mantras?

Do you know for a fact that in the majority of the cases of lineage masters being married the choice is not largely cultural? And that they actually flourished because of the relationship, while their realization would be less without it? Of course it is not necessarily always negative. But there r...

Re: Worldly wish fulfilling mantras?

Though it seems it is considered something that can be achieved through practice, it really doesn't seem to fit in with other worldly siddhis. Contrary to wealth, removing obstacles, etc., finding a girlfriend is something inherently counterproductive to practice. This is definitely not the case. S...

Re: Worldly wish fulfilling mantras?

Hello people. Soo I was just wondering what mantras or deities can I pray and do for worldly wishes? Well I kinda want to get a gf who can accompany me to dharma centres and practice together. So is there any particular deity or mantra to fulfill my wish? Why do you want a partner? Maybe examine yo...

Re: The Future

A generation of famous tulkus who have been sheltered in monasteries or treated like princes. Not that this is new, but it seems that they are lacking the actual practice of their predecessors, and seem trapped in a juvenile phase of emotional development. Hierarchy, nepotism, and patriarchy over bo...
