Re: Dzogchen Community of Chogyal Namkhai Norbu

I don't think any view can be %100 without concepts. Dzogchen "view" means being in the state of contemplation, that is what i was getting at. I know, I was agreeing with what you were saying to people. Dzogchen masters try to explain that view in concepts as much as possible though finally it has ...

Re: Dzogchen Community of Chogyal Namkhai Norbu

I'm sorry but I don't see how your reply explains what the supposed mental judgements in Semde are. If you're saying that the four yogas are conceptual methods till they're not, well, it's the same way in Mengagde methods (except thogal etc.). Within each phase there are different instructions poss...

@Pero: The variegated conceptual mind instructions at the Four contemplatiozn stages of semde, which though different at various phases, if not opposite, end up whipping.your mind into proper shape by the end to recognize, progress & integrate continuously, if successful.

Re: Dzogchen Community of Chogyal Namkhai Norbu

Hi Alpha, I didn't say you had not, just that I specifically remember him saying otherwise while teaching on the subject & those longde retreats (stand alone or on Chogyur Lingpa) go back for quite some years. He also warned of other pitfalls in some of those longde retreats which is why those audio...

Re: Dzogchen Community of Chogyal Namkhai Norbu

I don't think any view can be %100 without concepts. Experience and/or meditation however is, or rather, can be a different thing altogether, as is conduct/integration in parts. Dharmakaya/Samantabadhra is without concepts or even memory as I recall which is why Vajrasattva & others are there. Also ...

Re: Dorje Drolo and Dzogchen

Dorje Drolo takes care of various incarnations of major Damsi (dam sri) as target who are big-time samaya breakers who opposed their gurus & vajrayana rules including the demonic fake tertons who are amongst the most evil beings as long term enemies of Padmasambhava & Yeshe Tsogyal in disguise, harm...

Re: Dorje Drolo and Dzogchen

What role does Tsogyel Drollo (Vajra Mamo Tsogyel Trollo) have in reference to Dorje Drollo? Or in terms of practice? I only see info on her available from the Aro lineage when I do a search on the web... don't hear about her often if at all. http://aroencyclopaedia.org/shared/text/t/tsogyel_trollo...

I don't think T.Chokyi insulted anyone. Secondly I also don't think she/he disagreed with anyone here. In fact the opposite. Thirdly I don't think she/he is opposing what ChNN said but is agreeing again. T.Chokyi says there are numerous types of Direct Introduction and many appear otherwise until on...

Re: Gene Smith Tribute film- a Western Bodhisattva IMO

A couple of months ago I was reading Guru Rinpoche (can't remeber which book) saying in the five hundred year span of worsening degenerate era instead of practicing, old people will be consumed with making money thinking falsely they will live for very long times yet, which is not true. I see many s...

Yeshe Tsogyal is said to be an emanation of Saraswati, Tara & Vajrayogini in different texts. She completed the work of Shakyamuni Buddha & Padmasambhava & placed most Dzogchen Terma of his in physical & other dimensions in Tibet & Himalayas over many decades for numerous future generations. The guru transmitting Direct Introduction does so due to having realized the state and secondly holding the lineage. The ultimate which is realized & develped by his Direct Introduction methods & Guru Yoga is in fact one's own true nature of mind or the rigpa (ineffable experiential knowledge) of th...

Hi Rob, The 6 yogas is fine to read about but do not try them as they can be dangerous without supervision. The book on Vajrayogini by Elizabeth English is a good source on Vajrayogini though it is more academic than from a POV of practice. However Vajrayogini is a big source and has many female tan...

Re: A Community for Full-Time Practitioners with Families?

There are a couple of sayings: everyone has got good ideas but it matters when someone does it & Build it (not the whole thing but a start) and they will come. Last Karmapa & a few other lamas who built stupas there predicted the power places in Colorado mountains will be opened up in future. There ...

Re: Conventional Truth in Nyingma

The Nyingma are much more diverse than other schools & so on many matters you can not say this is their definitive view on so and so. Longchenpa brought Dzogchen closer to Nagarjuna/Chandra terminology as the Sarma schools had achieved a lot of power in Tibet. Then later Jigmed Lingpa brought Nyingm...
