I personally don't have a Chod drum or Changteu and I doubt that there is an opening in the frame, but if there was, it may be possible to place a dehumidification system like those that are used in string instruments.

Re: HYT Wangs
I personally do not like the notion that nothing is said before empowerment and I am not even told explicitly during. I can understand secrecy before the empowerment, however I am not very keen on being told after the fact that something is expected of me when nothing was said directly during it. I...

Not academic, but may help you locate other resources. And, if you haven't come across this, I recommend it.

Re: Find a Geshe
Hi, i'm going to look for a Geshe in my country in order to discuss some topics live, face to face. Is there any list online which can help me find Geshes residing in my country? Thank you very much :anjali: What Lobsang said is certainly relevant, but here is a list of the Resident FPMT teachers W...

Re: teachers approachable for a talk in US?
asking this on behalf of my friend. he does some meditation, has done several Goenka vipassana courses, generally on the path of spiritual seeking, but knows little of Vajrayana. the question is are there any lamas/Rinpoches approachable for a sincere talk to discuss his questions and doubts regard...

It is likely so. However, the lineage prayer in Berzin's Long Sadhana has the last two curiously as the 6th Panchen Lama and then the 13th Dalai Lama? Which doesn't really work out quite right. Shaun :namaste: In the copy I have the last two names are Losang Palden Yeshe (6th Panchen Lama) ...

I think Phabongka is in this lineage, right? I assume so and either or both Trijang Rinpoche and Ling Rinpoche. It is likely so. Re: Jhampa Shaneman on Vajrayogini
Many tashi deleks to all of you. Lama Jhampa recently and not so recently uploaded a ton of videos to his youtube channel. Among his superb HYT teachings there are complete experiential instructions as well as explanations on VY's generation stage and on the sadhana practice from the Dharmabhadra/P...

Re: Guhyasamaja Empowerments
I’m a practitioner mostly involved in the Nyingma and Kagyü traditions, have completed ngöndro and am mostly engaged in dzogchen-related practices, kind of just how the karmic cookie crumbled. I’ve embraced these practices for a long time, but for just as long I’ve felt an extremely strong pull -ca...

Re: India / Nepal
My brief and overall experience in Nepal, is that there are not as many public opportunities as you might think to receive teachings etc...Monasteries are not open to the public in terms of practice. The idea is more that as a lay practitioner you can sponsor pujas, etc...Sometimes there will be a f...

Re: Help me find a lama in Germany
From a Gelug perspective, HE Dagyab Rinpoche has a center (s) in Germany. There is a significant Tibetan population in Switzerland and one big one center/institute in Austria.--=probably more Quick glance there are Nyingma and Kagyu presence too. I believe there are some Sakya in Slovenia. Shaun :na...

Re: Mount Everest
You might want to look into Sagarmatha (skt.) as well. This is how most Nepalis refer to the mountain. Also, Dowman's Nepal Mandal has a short section on Peaks, Rivers, Gorges, etc... Different perspective and focused around Kathmandu, but you may find it interesting. His other text The Power Places...

Re: HYT Wangs
:good: This is the point. There are many layers of detail that go into this simple action, but best not to expand upon here. It is entirely possible HHDL chose to do something different and non-sectarian for the Gyalwa Gyamtso. Who is requesting and the audience are likely to have been taken into co...
Re: HYT Wangs
From my experience thus far with the Gelug lineage and it's lamas, lung isn't so crucial, as long as one has the requisite initiation. I think all the essentials for Sadhana was received during the empowerment anyways, such as self-generation, mantra, etc. Has it been said anytime (or in any text) ...
Re: HYT Wangs
Yes one should consider His Holiness as a Rime practitioner - I wonder if this wang was requested by Tai Situ? And also that this was a large public wang webcast globally for Saka Dawa. And that his intent around samayas probably reflects this. If I was a non-Gelug, I would go by what the guru actu...

Re: The Dalai Lama will be granting the Heruka Initiation of the Luipa Tradition 8-10 Jul 2022 (Indian time)
There is a text that FPMT have put together which is a sort of compendium of everything a HYT practitioner needs, with commentaries, etc... Shaun Would you be able to PM the details of this, it might be pretty helpful. Does Lama Chopa contain six session guru yoga, or must they still be done separa...
