Re: Still here

No matter what situation you're in, just do your best. Thats all you can do. The Dharma teaches us that we can overcome these emotions and delusions. But it takes time, practice and patience. Best wishes to you and keep on trying to do the best you can. Please don't let comments that you find to off...

Thanks koji :thanks: JD I understand what you're saying and I'm glad you have found a path that is working for you. I also deal with anger and things like you've mentioned. After quitting drinking and letting Buddha's teachings help me understand the mind-body that is me, I was able to...

Re: Delusional Minds

Thanks for the input JD. I think the part that hit me most, is the tame our minds. In doing so, we should also be more aware of these delusional thoughts. I have never been able to "decrease" any of that stuff through meditation, only to change my relationship to it. But have you decreased the attac...

Delusional Minds

I was listening to Gelek Rimpoche of Jewel Heart this morning and he talked a bit about this. In his talk he said we must remove the negativities and nurture the positiveities and tame our minds. The difficult part of this is our minds are controlled by delusional thoughts. We see something we like,...

Re: living proof of bodhisattva and merits

For myself, I believe in Karma and rebirth. There is an entire thread on this, so lets not rehash it here. :anjali: So each action you make there is an outcome for it and if you do not experience that outcome in this life you will in future rebirths. So, HH Dali Lama has created much merit in previo...

Re: living proof of bodhisattva and merits

Yes his merits will follow him from this to the next existence. As will yours and mine.
Our merit or non-meritious actions follow us. Maybe we'll see/experience the effects in this life or in the future in any of our further lives.

Re: Question on Mantras

Thank you for all the responses.
So I guess if a sylable is in brackets then it's an "option" to say it.
That was copied from the Lama Yeshe Wisdom archives for any inquireing minds

Question on Mantras

I have a question about why some mantras have brackets around some sylables.
As here in the Medicine Buddha Mantra.

TAYATA OM BEKANDZAY BEKANDZAY MAHA BEKANDZAY [BEKANDZAY] RANDZA SAMUGATAY SOHA

Thanks for any input to help me understand

Re: Gelek Rimpoche Sunday Talks

Thanks T. Chokyi, :thanks: I should have added the links :emb: You do have to subscribe for the talks through paypal, but you can do a $10 a month payment which is really affordable imo. Once you subscribe you can also listen to all the previous talks. Each is about 1 hour. Rimpoche puts things into...

Gelek Rimpoche Sunday Talks

I just finished listening to Gelek Rimpoche's , of Jewel Heart, weekly Sunday talk. And wondering if anyone else here tunes in to the live broadcasts or listens to them later on the replay. I find that he really puts his subject matter into an easily understandable form. If anyone has watched or lis...
