Re: The Song of Vajra
I've heard a teacher once remark that sometimes when people chant it is as if they were at a funeral. This certainly can't be accused of that!

It'.s out of print, if you look on Namsebangdzo and wisdom books carefully you'll see It's actually unavailable. I have a PDF copy, It's an amazing book. Hopefully it will be reprinted. I mentioned above, although I didn't reference the title, just gave a link. It is due for a reprint, later this y...

Re: Starting a local practice group
Theres nothing to stop you doing something informal with other Dzogchen Community members(or those with transmission) If you'd like to do something more formal and invite teachers out etc then its best to contact Tsegyalgar. Got room in your back yard for a dance mandala?

Re: Dzogchen Community of Chogyal Namkhai Norbu
How do you understand the differentiation of main and secondary practices Malcolm?simhanada wrote:FYi yantra is a secondary practice.
As simple as Guruyoga and everything else?
Or as Magnus suggested Semde, Longde. Mannagde?
Where does Yantra and Dance fall under that schema?

Cool, thankyou for the clarificationheart wrote:Just a small comment, I think when ChNNR says "main practice" he means Semde, Longde and Mengakde. Rushan and Semdzin are actually preliminaries to the Mengakde.

Anyway, I agree. I imagine Rinpoche would be happy if all we did was Ati-Guruyoga in the correct way.

Re: Dzogchen Community of Chogyal Namkhai Norbu
Dear Venerable Simhanada, all and ALL, I am hardly venerable. Homage to the Masters. For many people, I think this issue is a “dead horse,” and so I sincerely apologize to them for all this redundant blah-blah. Since Venerable Simhanada is still riding this horse, maybe it is not a dead horse, and ...

In the DC, I am aware of current live courses offered in the secondary practices of the Vajra Dance, Yantra Yoga, Rushens, Semzins, Mandarava, Tara and Chod, as well as what is being taught by ChNNR in his current webcasts. I am sure that there are additional subjects being taught in live courses t...

Yes actually I was also referring to that. Sorry to basically keep asking the same question a hundred times, but I want to be sure. Those mantras are sung pretty loudly, now I'm not walking up to my mother or sister and saying "Hey, check out these cool mantras" but they might hear some o...

Traleg Rinpoche passes into paranirvana
From an email I've just received. Dear Friends and Members of Traleg Kyabgon Rinpoche's centres, It is with deep regret that we inform the Karma Kagyu tradition, the Nyingma tradition and all other schools of Tibetan Buddhism as well as the wider Buddhist community that our treasured and beloved Tra...

I am a European living in Kathmandu, Nepal. Does CNN have a center or a practice group here ? If your trying to connect with people in Kathmandu you can put a post out on norbunet. Even without that when I was there 6 years ago we managed a ganapuja of about 6 people who had received transmission t...

Their instructions are also a bit different. It appears that Precious Vase is the authoritative text here, not the earlier publications. That's what I think I've been given to understand by an SMS instructor, in any case. (Correct me if I'm wrong.) Either book is fine. You will get results if you f...

Re: Dzogchen Community of Chogyal Namkhai Norbu
I do not think that I have the lung for the additional mantras, and can therefore not do the practice given in the booklet. As far as the action-mantra is concerned, Rinpoche did say something about the action-mantra when giving lungs at the recent retreat, and this presumably entitles me to perfor...
