Well, not having a dog in this fight and only getting one side of the story, I went on over to "Protecting Nyingma" to see what all the fuss is about. Frankly, the whole thing is disgusting and pathetic, your side, their side, the whole mess. It sounds like a bunch of spoiled 10th graders....

The Dog Whisperer has written a number of books, has videos, etc.
that would be very helpful. The whole "calm, assertive energy of the pack leader" thing is spot on. And ... be consistent!

Usually it requires some type of approval from the guru, or completion of ngondro or a particular retreat or course, it varies by teacher.

A woman is born with all the eggs she will ever have, 1-2 million. Only one to maybe 9-10 eggs max are available during each monthly cycle, contrasted with billions of sperm per ejaculation. At fertilization, one egg is fertilized by one sperm. How does "profuse" apply here to determine sex?

The other points was that all of the teachers interviewed were quite explicit in that they believed that 100% of students would go through this negative period she observed and that this period(defined by her as "clinical impairment", effects that hamper everyday interactions with reality...
