When Lama Lena gave Vajrakilaya teachings she asked everyone to watch the recording of Garchen Rinpoche giving that empowerment. I just wonder how you think the "telepathic component" worked in that situation? It was after all a "wang".

Re: Dzogchen and thoughts
The proof is in the pudding, one needs to taste it for oneself. It's pretty weird that you think that you are the only one on this forum that has "tasted the pudding"? I am afraid that is a rookie misstake. No matter how fantastic that first glimpse of the nature of mind was it was still ...

Also Sangye Khandro and Lama Chonam's translation of both the root text and the commentary by Longchenpa is coming out soon. It will be followed by Khenchen Namdrols teaching on the root text. Padmakara have also made a commitment to translate Khangsar Tenpa'i Wangchuk commentary on the root text. K...

Re: Dzogchen and thoughts
As an interesting note, in the Choying Dzo, Longchenpa uses the term "the Category of Direct Transmission" to refer to Mengagde , (p.31) Not Lonchenpa, this is how Richard Barron translates Mengagde. And in the Tsigdon Dzo, he says: "As it does not rely on words, it does not depend o...

Re: Differentiating Nature of Mind from Calm State
In a previous post you sheepishly admit that you've had doubt about the Nature of Mind. With respect to this doubt, does it take place when you are "beyond mind" or when you are in the so called "samsara" with "all its ups and downs"? Obviously doubt pertains to the la...

Re: Differentiating Nature of Mind from Calm State
Wow, really? You think there is no point in considering calm/movement? You don't think calm or movement has any bearing on when you are distracted from the Nature of Mind? When you are distracted from the nature of mind is called samsara, all its ups and downs cause endless suffering. What I said w...

Re: Differentiating Nature of Mind from Calm State
I see. So your doubts about the Nature of Mind have never involved the calm state? It seems then that your doubt pertains not to calm, only the movement of mind. Interesting. Once you actually got direct introduction things like movement or calm just isn't the point. Wow, really? You think there is...

Re: Differentiating Nature of Mind from Calm State
With all due respect, this is absurd. From the standpoint of someone who is realized they are never confused. But for most of us, this is not the case. There is a reason why some teachers insist on a very stable shine practice as a means to recognizing the Nature of Mind. Though they are not at all...

Re: Differentiating Nature of Mind from Calm State
Hence the form of my question: what characterizes their difference? The two are confused all of the time, which is why teachers go to great lengths to explain why calm alone is not it. They are never confused in any way at all. It is like asking what is the difference between a cup of water and the...

Re: Differentiating Nature of Mind from Calm State
How do we establish the difference between being in the Nature of Mind, and being in a calm state (i.e. in this case a calm state that is not "in the Nature of Mind")? There is absolutely no comparison between the nature of mind and the calm state. They are not similar in any way. To unde...
