Re: Tilopa

The tradition of Guru Yoga in Tilopa’s system is to visualize your guru in the form of Vajradhara as the embodiment of all Buddhas. It’s called Dharmakaya Guru Buddha.

Re: Chogyal Namkhai Norbu Has Attained Parinirvana

Who is left in this modern world now? One of the great masters has gone off. We have Lama Tsultrim and Garchen Rinpoche left of the modern world from what I know, and perhaps his successor. Is there anyone else out there left of this era? Khenpo Namdrol. This one? http://www.rigpawiki.org/index.php...

Re: Chogyal Namkhai Norbu Has Attained Parinirvana

You did. Not sure if this was responding to me. Appears to. He and I corresponded a lot about Yangti. Though I did not get a chance to meet him, I probably listened to his lectures for thousands of hours and attended live webcasts consecutively for many years. Besides Khenpo Namdrol and Drupon Gonp...

Re: Is tibetan inherently peacefull ?

The idea is you can kill enemies of dharma, like samaya breakers. But you do a ritual it’s Murder by sorcery. Actual physical killing is reserved for those who harm the guru. Then the bodhisattva can kill one to save many, like the assassin who wanted to sink a boat and kill 500 Arahats. It’s pretty...

Why do you assume that anyone would want or need a 'wild lama'?

I wasted years with a wild lama.
Thank the Buddhas for stable, strong, and compassionate Lamas like ChNN or Mingyur Rinpoche.
The journey is the goal.

Re: Is tibetan inherently peacefull ?

Killing is killing. The slain are slain. Was it good. Was he or she good? Was Angulimala good? If it’s bad, it’s not a permanent stain. It’s usually the passion of youth. Old men prefer solitude. Yogis shrug of hopes and worries of good and bad. That’s all about what young men hope to achieve in soc...

You miss nothing by avoiding news.

That’s ridiculous and, to be clear, that’s not what I meant either (DGA got it right). Nichiren Buddhism is not about disengaging from the world and going off by yourself to meditate in a cave.
Bla bla bla nobody’s opinion is right.

I managed to find an Intensely Wrathful Black Hayagriva daily practice. I don't want to do the practice until I can get some advice on this. According to the site you do not need an empowerment to do this practice.. I'm just a little worried about doing a wrathful buddha practice. I'm kind of worri...
