Re: Dzogchen Community of Chogyal Namkhai Norbu
Why doesn't ChNNR require his students to take refuge in the Three Jewels prior to recieving DI? I guess that would be like asking someone to first believe in God in order to be able to enter the Church to have a peek, no? Other than that I don't know :) I'd think the ultimate refuge is one's Natur...

Re: Can a complete beginner benefit from Dzogchen practice?
Nope, He doesn't and noone is asked about formal Three Jewel ritual in order to receive the introduction. As to refuge it is a part of short, medium and long Tuns (practices) so you'll get them every time anyway ;) Dzogchen is Buddhist, after all. Hehe, this might be interesting one Dzogchen Without...

Re: Lazy people should just give up, right?
This is very true Kevin ... us, Dzogchen Practitioners we are already dealing with the result, therefore what ever we do, practice not practice or something else, anyway it's about the result ... we cannot get out of that, therefore why to take care about? Yeah do whatever you want, doesn't matter ...

Sorry mate just one, if I may - I'd greatly appreciate if you could stop using blue text color, many times it's just impossible to read. Thanks.
Other than that I have no idea

Re: DO and Emptiness
But that does not mean there are no processes, because if there were no processes, the basis could never arise from the basis, and so on. Ok however typically a process is never outside cause and effect. Does then you mean basis arise out of basis by the law of causality? Also if basis arise out of...

Re: DO and Emptiness
Norbu Rinpoche states in his Questions and Answers on the Great Perfection: That view established intellectually we need to establish consciously in dependence upon one’s capacity of knowledge and on convention. The way of establishing that is the system of Prasanga Madhyamaka commented upon by the...

Re: Lazy people should just give up, right?
if distracted... that is your natural state. distraction is the path. lazy... thats fine. nothing to realize or attain. just this natural feeling. rigpa, not realized, felt every day of your life from birth to death. just relax. Errmm... right :) What I remember from London teachings is there are t...

Re: DO and Emptiness
Hmmmm, Namrdol ofen says emptiness in Madhyamaka and Dzogchen has the same meaning, however currently I'm reading "Undbounded Wholeness" by Geshe Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche and there's a part called "Core Philosophical Issues" where it's stated "Dzogchen and Madhyamaka speak of...

Re: Lazy people should just give up, right?
Interestingly RInpoche was saying about lazyines in Dzochnen today :) So He said if one doesn't feel need to do tantric practice then should not, and that's okay but has to stay not distracted, and should not force oneself to do practices, as long as remembers to stay not distracted. And that's beca...

Re: Lazy people should just give up, right?
Really just plain sick of practices that take forever to achieve results. Completion of Tara practice is only a million mantras! No problem! Give me a break. Kabballist path-working was almost instantaneous in comparison, sorry to say. Yeah so you like, give up and in 10 years you'll realize - &quo...

Ye. I was looking at that. One needs much karma yoga for this and a quite stability in the state of contemplation - and I'm too new to the community yet. But perchaps in the future, who knows

Re: DO and Emptiness
Okay, but then, in causality, a certain effect can not be own cause, is that correct? You were saying basis arises from (or out of) basis so that would mean it is own cause? Also, typically what is illusion is "within" causes and conditions. In Dzogchen it is often said about out true cond...

Re: DO and Emptiness
Thanks Namdrol.
I heard basis is empty, however it is also said it is beyond causes and conditions, beyond time and space. What causality you mean by "causality in the basis"?Namdrol wrote: However, since there is causality in the basis, it also must be empty (...)
