Re: Elementary Particles (dharma)

Okay, if you think Buddhism promotes the idea of elements, whether in Theravada, Thai, or Tibetan Buddhism. Wind is motion. Earth is solidity. When the solidity move, solidity is just motion, motion is just solidity. Making a concept which is defect by itself, and defect right from the start. It loo...

Re: Elementary Particles (dharma)

You are searching for specific particles, isn't it? Stephen hawking said universe can be said just as space, energy, and time. These 3 things seems cover all possibility we have in this universe. Earth, water, fire, wind can be thought as just energy. Once they are thought as energy, your ability to...

Re: How to disrupt any Buddhist conversation:

By the way, has Nagarjuna ever said he is Madyamaka?

Has Garab Dorje ever said he taught Dzogchen view?

Has Bodhidharma ever said he is Zen master?

Isn't it foolish then to put that on your journey and feel you belong to this or that?

Re: How to disrupt any Buddhist conversation:

If during awake, the truth of Buddha is unseen, it is extremely hard to see that during the death time. It will be already too late to do something at that moment. Why do you see buddhism as Madyamaka and Dzogchen? Buddhism is about seeing reality as precisely as possible and that is all. There is n...

Re: Samantabhadra - Bodhisattva or Buddha or AdiBuddha?

Bodhisattva samantabhadra is the one who is famous for his way of dedicating merit. He is one of 8 great boddhisattvas, which is mentioned quite often. Buddha Samantabhadra is not very clear. He is depicted as adibuddha in the sense that he never ever experience confusion. Siddharta Gautama ever exp...

Re: Eliminate all delusion regarding the basis with dream yoga?

Definitely can.

However, there is always a question of what do you mean by the elimination of all delusions?

Do you mean that when someone hits you, your anger will no longer appear?

Re: Is the universe made of the same substance?

The meaning is not suppose to be realized again and again, but once realized, one no longer remain in delusion. Yes, you are right. But, are we belong to that type of person or not? This type of person is extremely rare. And in his past life he has again and again train himself not to be deluded. I...

Re: Is the universe made of the same substance?

If we say car, for example. 99.999% we will fall into existence of car not only as label, but also as something findable as substance, having intrinsic self. Unless we can know car is just a label referring to some non-intrinsic appearance, we are safe. Unfortunately, only enlightened beings can do ...

Re: Will Buddhism become redundant?

Buddhist point of view soon or later will be proven by science. I personally do not have doubt about it and I fully support buddhism is tested by science to its every minute details. Because buddhism tells you, there is no underlying inherent thing or underlying fixed entity that govern this univers...

Re: Is the universe made of the same substance?

So, you should know now why reality cannot be said as such and such.

When there is no inherent existence, whatever we say just fall into false sense.

It is automatic.

Probably yes. But it will be pointless. It is better for them keep searching for themselves until they get tired by themselves. Re: Is the universe made of the same substance?

According to scientist, this universe is made of energy and space. According to others, this universe is made of 5 elements + consciousness. According to others, this universe is made of X, Y, Z, etc. Regardless, how many things you want to say, at the end, you will come to the conclusion that those...

Re: Boredom

When you feel bored, you try to ask yourself - where is the one who is experiencing boredom?

Is that one in your head, in your heart, in your body, in your mind?

Try to be active by becoming a detective.

See what you can find.

Re: Is the universe made of the same substance?

Conventional truth is nothing more than just an opinion. If this universe has substance, this universe cannot work. Because it doesn't have substance, dependent origination can work. Because it also doesn't have substance, by convention you cannot say this as such or such. It is meaningless than to ...

Saying 'mere appearance' is the position of ultimate truth, saying 'hand' is the position of conventional truth. If the ultimate truth is already realized by both party, then saying 'hand' will not be confused by the other as clinging to form and names as real. No. Saying 'mere appearance' is not t...
