Hey there!

Post by TravisM » Fri Jan 26, 2018 2:06 am

Hi everyone! I live in the Seattle, USA area and have been studying the dharma for the last year or so, gradually getting to know its different flavors and building my practice. And it's been a really interesting journey, given that I started out interested in a purely secular Buddhism and most recently have been very interested in Pure Land. I've just started visiting a local meditation center to try to find a good sangha. It's nice to meet you all and I'm looking forward to the discussion!

Welcome from Portland :) I also started out secular and came to follow Pure Land after a few years.

"If sentient beings are touched by His radiance, their three afflictions will be eliminated and their bodies and minds will become gentle. They will be filled with joy and exuberance as benevolence arises in their minds. If those who are in extreme suffering, taking any of the three evil life-journeys, see this radiance, they can rest, no more pain or distress. After their death, they will be saved." -- Sutra of Amitāyus Buddha
