Hello everyone!
I'm Ariadne, 21 years old, I use she/her pronouns. I was raised by my mom, who has been studying with her teacher since I was 2 years old. I'm told she took her Refuge vows while I was still nursing. I'm also told that I sang for the Dalai Lama in a performance with my preschool class, in Santa Cruz, California, US. I used to sit in the back of her classes at Diamond Mountain University near Tuscon, Arizona (which has now transformed into a gorgeous Retreat Center), reading science fiction novels. I used to take so many of the ancient teachings for granted, and thought that everyone had similar ideas about life, rebirth, and especially karma and the workings of the world. A few years ago, I was attending a retreat by the Asian Classics Institute and something finally clicked into place. It all made so much sense, and I started to formally practice. I took Refuge that very same retreat, and have since been trying to implement the teachings I've received (mainly Lam Rim and some Wheel of Life, from my teacher Geshe Michael Roach) into my daily life.
I've felt quite lonely in my practice, as my IRL (in real life) Sangha are scattered across the globe, and reunite only in retreats every few months. I'd like to know of and talk to people who have practiced longer than myself, to find elders who might impart their knowledge in these forums. I'd also rejoice to know of any people close to my age to talk with about generation-specific problems and opportunities of practice. I aim to better my meditation and yoga practices, as well as to make and keep myself focused and dedicated to the most efficient methods, that will better my life for the sake of all living beings.
I look forward to interacting!
Blessings to all

Hi Ariadne (nice name),
Where are you currently based? There may be other sangha nearby, that members here are aware of, that you could hook up with.
