Can a person practice both Dzogchen and Mahamudra?

Post by Tenma »

So I recieved the Ganges Mahamudra instructions and have been practicing them for a time for over a month, but I also received Dzogchen teachings as well.

Is it possible to practice both? Or is this going to lead up to more troubles?

Yes. Easily. Both describe the same state.
“Observing samaya involves to remain inseparable from the union of wisdom and compassion at all times, to sustain mindfulness, and to put into practice the guru’s instructions”. Garchen Rinpoche

For those who do virtuous actions,
goodness is what comes to pass.
For those who do non-virtuous actions,
that becomes suffering indeed.

Oh good! I thought their methods to the same state were "contradictory"(whatever proper word it be for conflicting things) against each other.
Oh well, thank you!

Zhangton Chobar practiced Dzogchen in the day and Lamdre at night, in secret. ;)
