Shortly after the new year I'll be relocating from Chicago to Madison, WI. Madison is about 50 miles from the location of Korinji( http://www.korinji.org), the monastery we're building thereabouts.
As part of our activity in that area, we'll be starting a new Rinzai Zen center in Madison itself: Ryugen-ji (龍源寺). The intention is that Ryugen-ji will be an urban center complementing and balancing the more rigorous, rural training environment at Korinji...a model that's obviously been useful for many groups.
Longer term, Ryugen-ji will be housed, and work together with, the "Bright Forest Center". BFC is our idea for a comprehensive mind-body training place, including facilities for psychotherapy, traditional and holistic medicine practitioners, along with various support groups, seminars, cultural activities and so on which don't fall under the purview of a Zen temple, but which give us many useful tools under one roof.
So, just an update. We're building up steam, funds and human resources now to make this next jump. It will not only mark the founding of a new center, but (it is hoped) also speed up our ongoing development of Korinji.
The Ryugen-ji site is up here: http://www.ryugen-ji.org" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. Anyone interested can sign up there on our mailing list, to receive updates and announcements as we touch down in Madison and get things rolling.

Guys, thanks very much for your wishes, as always.
Daiyuzenji will certainly continue in Chicago under its current abbot, So'zan Miller Roshi. And I hope eventually we'll also see groups spring up in Milwaukee, the Twin Cities, etc.
