That may be true however desire is poison, no Buddhist is going to argue against that.

Is that true? The turtle part I mean. I don't know why I have it in my mind that it was a joke...
Although many individuals in this age appear to be merely indulging their worldly desires, one does not have the capacity to judge them, so it is best to train in pure vision.

The turtle idea is from Pratchett's Discworld.

Cutting out foods that are also aphrodisiacs helps. This is especially true if you want to reduce sexually driven dreams that will occur naturally if you give up porn and masturbation. Garlic, onions and excessively spicey food are big culprits here.
Excercise and having something to direct any excess energy too helps- e g - work, creative projects, business, study, physical work etc.
Don't make lucid dreaming sex your goal either. If it happens, then so be it but it's a wasted opportunity to make progress in dream yoga or just cultivating undistracted lucid awareness /mindfulness etc. This is especially so when attchment to pleasure causes the lucidity to fade out.

It might be, but it won't happen by supressing it, which is what I was reffering to. People easily slip into supression or overusage of nice things. And quite honestly the approach I suggested is a form of integration into dharma as it requires you to be aware, which is the basis for all practices.Motova wrote: ↑Sun Dec 10, 2017 12:46 amHonestly I feel integrating one's sexuality into one's Dharma practice is probably one of the keys to becoming a siddha.Miroku wrote: ↑Sat Dec 09, 2017 11:49 pmHeh thought this was only at TheDaoBums, but it seems to spread. I think nofap and thedaobums are better sites for this question. Otherwise I think it is best to be mindful about your masturbation and the reasons why you do it. If you feel too tired afterwards or do it too often then don't if you don't feel that then do. There are no easy tricks. Listen to your body and be mindful and you will know one way or another. But don't go into that whole nofap craze, not having some "me"time won't make you a better person or turn you into a siddha.

I'd suggest you to read Bruce Newman's book A Beginner's Guide to Tibetan Buddhism there he touches on the topic of sexuality in the chapter devoted to dzogrim. Quite a nice book.

Give up onions, garlic, scallions, chives, and leeks. I've heard Malcolm say from a Tibetan medicine perspective that the action can be healthy, but there are certain seasons when it should be minimized.
