Buddhist Communities

Post by BuddistinIreland »

Dear Freinds,

May this message find us all well.

I am looking for Buddhist Communities or Buddhist Ecovillages to live in.

I am female. I am responsible for a two year old boy.

I would like to dedicate the rest of my Life to practicing the Dharma. I would also like the two year old I am responsible for to be raised in a Buddhist Setting.

I live in Ireland currently and there are none here. We are happy to leave this country. However, I have never been out of the West.

All suggestions, tips and advice gratefully accepted.

Good Wishes

Tashi delek R,

That is not easy to realize that so 123.

First you must realize it does cost money like everywhere, it is never for free.
Then there are in the world many of these eco communities and not so much based on Buddhism.

I know that Plum Village has some possibilities for you, but if they allow children, i do not know.
They maintain silence there.

But i know that a Belgian Nyingma c enter, has in Portugal since a long time a bio agriculture faarm for grains.
They have in Brussels a bio vegetarian restaurant where the Euro parliamentarians have their dinner.
When i am right it is in the Rue du Capouillet .

Then we have too in Belgium, Yeunten Ling and they have also many Shangpa Kagyu residents living .
there.

Kamalashila Germany / Karma Kagyu
http://kamalashila.de/en/supporting/volunteer/

But for all counts you need to be member of the club.

Further know i in the Italian Alps, north from Milan an eco farm.

Then Bön center in France , Shenten Dargye Ling is a Bön living community and they need always volunteers there.

Then Chamma Ling in Colorado also Bön Dharma Center has residents.

...all these centers are non profit organisations and have always "no money".

The point would be that you must pay some money monthly for your residence.
Also you must be member of the club and follow their Tradition, guess that would not be a problem for you.

Hope this helps

Best wishes also for your little child
KY.
