lag time when posting

Postby Vasana » Fri Jul 15, 2016 4:57 pm

It still takes up to a minute for any post to go through after hitting submit. Was there ever an explanation for why this started happening?

As a time of suffering will surely come around to me,
May I truly practice the sublime teachings."

I've just experienced this myself.

It has been going on for a long time and no, we have never really known why.

We did see some improvement a while ago when some changes were made in the system software but the basic problem is still there.
If you want to know more, please read this thread - http://dharmawheel.net/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=21968 - and if you have any good ideas about a solution, please post them there.
I will lock this thread to avoid duplication.

Have been away for months, but looks like the Submit function still takes forever and sometimes does not work at all.

No fix yet, eh?

Have been away for months, but looks like the Submit function still does not work, even after waiting a long time.

I have gone to Chrome now to see if that makes any difference.

It comes and goes.
There's also an approval process for new users and certain subforums.

First post is always a bit slow - a minute or more. After that, it is quicker.

From a Luddite, who is proudly ignorant.

I was going back to some old threads from 8 or 9 years ago and a new post there takes around a minute. Yet the current posts I put up, appear quickly. Any clue there...

Has nothing to do with the number of members I suppose?

After I click the submit button I immediately go back to the main page, and the post is usually there. It takes forever for the website to send me back to the thread to see my post, so I don't wait for it, but the post itself goes through at a normal speed.

I have tried that and most of the time it helps.
