As a Newly Registered User, you do not have permissions to have a signature.
There was a system error that allowed you to create your earlier signature.
Your earlier signature was unacceptable according to forum standards.

So when would I have the permission to create my own signature again?

Also how did my signature violated forum standards and rules?

It's early to say.

From Terms of Service:
- No Inappropriate Images/Audio/Video
- No Advertising/Commercial Links in Signatures/Posts
- Do not be disruptive. Dharma Wheel is an environment for the discussion of Mahayana and Vajrayana Buddhism. All are welcome but are required to abide by the Terms of Service (ToS). The staff team reserve the right to edit/remove inappropriate content, and to remove or transfer any posts or threads that are not relevant to the sub-forum in which they are posted. Any subject matter that may be off-topic or is intended only to cause disruption or harm to others may be removed without notice.

Large signatures containing links to sites for and videos of Korean pop stars are not appropriate for DharmaWheel.

Not really a new member, having joined in 2009, but I was inactive for many months. Anyway the Edit Signature option is not there under my Profile.

I believe that should fix the issue.

Dear Admin_PC,
not that I care much about status or eligibility.
Just on this short note: how is Global Moderator Virgo then doing with her huge signature pic and her youtube link to Aliacia Keys? Who decided which pop star is eligible, who is not? :rules:
Regardless this notion: Thanks for your assistance in this Forum!

Well, signatures are typically for folks out of the Newly Registered Users group.

As far as how Virgo's signature differs from what was complained about above:
- Virgo's got 1 youtube link, a couple links to environmental concerns, and a Buddhist mantra in their signature.
- V-Origin had nothing short of an entire fan page (complete with videos) embedded in the signature (not a link) that would come up with every post.

Having links vs embedding videos is a fairly significant difference.

I wish I had seen this thread sooner. I spent time for the past two evenings searching for the Signature create/edit button. I looked and looked, and looked again in the User Control Panel and elsewhere. It would have been helpful if that information was noted in the FAQ “How do I add a signature to my post?”

Also, it might be helpful to send an email (perhaps as part of the Welcome to Dharma Wheel email notifying a new member that they have been approved) or have a post “For Newcomers” that includes suggestions like “Read the Terms of Service” and “Right Speech and Enlightened Discussion”, posting an introduction, and also include information about restrictions on new members (e.g. - posts require moderator approval, no signatures, etc.).

Do no harm,
clyde

It's a matter of individual judgement, AFAIK.

I see, so if I want to create a signature, I should proceed how? :)

You cannot proceed until you leave the New Registered Users group. In the same way that you cannot post without approval until you exit this group. Normally this requires making a number (moderating teams discretion) of intelligent posts.

We do this to filter out posts by spammers, bots, trolls and trouble makers.

I see, then I suppose I’ll just keep on keeping on. Thanks!
