distinguishing unread posts

Post by dakini_boi » Tue Feb 15, 2011 4:05 am

It would be cool if postings that a member has not read yet would appear somehow distinguished, such as with an asterisk or different color heading. This is how it's done on tribe.net (I think this feature only works if you're signed in as a member, that's how it keeps track). So each time someone posts something new in a topic, the user can most easily find the topic *and* the posting within the topic which hasn't been read. It's really helpful, especially for topics that have gotten quite large - you can just scroll down and the asterisk tells you what's new.

^ there's already a tiny pic of a page to the left of the post's author that turns orange when the post is new or white when it's been read
