Master Sheng Yen's advice

Post by cjdevries »

I wanted to pass this on to others who may not have seen it. Master Sheng Yen describes how to help those who are deceased; how we can hear sutras on the spiritual level and understand them after we die; how they can help us transcend attachment and suffering.

Here is an additional video, where Master Sheng Yen talks about the two ways to deliver the dead.

He recommends we have someone talk to our consciousness after our death, saying something like: "You’re already dead. You must be aware of it. You must let go of everything in the human world. Don’t hang onto anything. Let go. Don't be resentful. You aren’t all alone. See the world as impermanent. Now, relinquish everything in the human world. Attentively see the world as impermanent as the moon’s reflection in water or flowers in the sky. They are but illusion and fantasy. Seek for rebirth in Amitabha Buddha’s pure land, where people live forever and everything is everlasting. Ask Amitabha Buddha to help and lead you there. You can let go of this world and enter another.”
