Quotations or Traditional Sayings
I remember a teaching that any truth that agrees with Buddha's teaching is equal to Dharma. Do you know any traditional sayings, or quotes from famous people from history that echo Buddha's truths?
Here's one from my great grandmother: "And this too shall pass."
Another favorite: "First, do no harm." Hippocrates

true dharma is inexpressible.
The bodhisattva nourishes from bodhicitta, through whatever method the Buddha has given him. Oh joy.

Imperare sibi maximum imperium est.
To rule yourself is the ultimate power. (Seneca)
Memento mori.
Remember that you are going to die.
Nocere facile est, prodesse difficile.
It is easy to do harm, difficult to do good.
Inopiae desunt multa, avaritiae omnia.
Poverty is the lack of many things, avarice is the lack of all things.
Publilius Syrus, 1st cent. AD, Roman author of maxims
All things are in the Universe, and the universe is in all things: we in it, and it in us; in this way everything concurs in a perfect unity.
Giordano Bruno, 1548-1600, Italian monk & philosopher
