The Eternal City.

Post by Simon E. »

Tomorrow I am off to Rome for a while! We have rented an apartment in the Monti district.
I am leaving my PC at home...

There were eggs and ham in the fridge that needed using up before we go, so I remembered Brian Griffin's favourite and made 'Moon Over My Hammy'...

Back in the UK for a while to escape Rome's heat in July/August. England is cool and breezy. We will return to Rome for another sojourn in September.

I was there for a few days almost exactly a year ago. We were repeatedly told by Italians that our week in Italy was the hottest week they had ever known, but we still went sight-seeing - in 40C heat! - because it was our only opportunity.

True. We're perfectly happy in the mid-20s and cope OK with low 30s, but we do still start looking for shade at anything above that.
And so we should.

Nice to see someone you're back, is it raining for you?

Up here in Cumbria it's waiting to rain and is very windy.
