Any other World Cup fans here? I'm not a big fan of soccer/football, but I do watch the World Cup since it's only once every 4 years. Since almost every country competes, they start the qualifying matches to see who's in very shortly after the previous one ends. The big news so far is that the U.S. is out.

2018 World Cup
Re: 2018 World Cup
I used to be a great Worldcup fan, but right now I'm spaced out. I didn't hear much about what happened in the qualifying matches. Netherlands are out, I heard. And Messi saved Argentina. Portugal is qualified, I hope?DNS wrote: ↑Sat Oct 14, 2017 9:15 pm https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2018_FIFA_World_Cup

And lately I watched a game of the German team for some minutes - I was surprised to see so many new players. Never heard about them before. But I think, that's due to my distraction.
But FIFA WC will be a great event for sure.

I get all my World Cup analysis from my Scottish expert husband, and I do think it's a lot of fun. Netherlands and US are already out?!? that's too bad.

I don't follow it but it gets coverage on the news programmes I watch and, afaik, half the US is out. The female half is doing fine.DNS wrote: ↑Sat Oct 14, 2017 9:15 pm https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2018_FIFA_World_Cup

I was done with football after Maradona shoved the referee, hand of god, etc. Dives and grandstanding. FIFA corruption. No thanks. It’s worse than dzogchen.
