Ayu wrote: Fri Nov 10, 2017 6:35 pm Tomorrow I have to write something for German and history and learn math. I'm so afraid to start with math. But it will be good have it done, tomorrow night.

What kind of math are you studying?
No real study, I'm just going to school again. Something like high school for adults in the evening. Right now in math we deal with this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Function_(mathematics) and especially this: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kurvenschar
On the English wiki page it looks different.

It's not too difficult to solve those arithmetic test papers, as long as I understand the question. Math-German is so difficult for me. I never understand what they are saying in first place.
But when I don't forget to breathe (in... ... and out... ... and in... ... ...) it's possible to stumble through the exam. My teacher says: "Always keep your nose (head) above water."

That German wiki page corresponds more to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Family_of_curves.

When I was in Japan, I came to appreciate the fine products of the Suntory corporation.

Specifically, BOSS coffee in a can from a vending machine. Very fine

Suntory beer is also OK.

I bring all this up because I didn't get to try Suntory whiskey. Any of their whiskeys. It was all sake and beer all the time. Japanese drinking culture is impressive, by the way. This person is half my size by mass, and consuming twice my limit? And he's 93? I digress

I would like to try some Japanese whiskey. I think. I'm not sure where to start. Is it all in the Scotch whisky vein? anything particularly distinctive or creative going on? suggestions?

This is why I pretended the BOSS guy is Salvador Allende without his glasses, and enjoying a pipe. After a while I was convinced and started to wonder how Chileans might feel about that. The lies we tell ourselves

Sometimes I experience alternatives of this or that in the voice of my optometrist. How about A... or B? OK, now, A... or B?

so on the long drive from work to my daughter's childcare, this A... or B? troubled me. The worst song ever recorded.

A...

or B?

I just did his dream yoga thing at Pema Osel Ling. His world-rocking abilities appear undiminished.

Eons ago, bees discovered communism.

There was a struggle at first. Their societies were rocked, economies overturned, and wars were fought. Within a few generations, however, their societies became completely socialist, and then communist. Under these totalitarian regimes innovation of all types was slowly suffocated and completely disincentivised. Serious dysfunction manifested, but with it came adaptation from the system.

Family formation broke down. Some females chose to mate indiscriminately, negating the need for males to signal their worth through productivity, and eventually the males themselves were viewed as a burden and largely culled before maturity. Many more females chose to take a partner of the same sex, though often along dimorphic lines. Eventually their leaders began the conscious process of selective breeding for these patterns, and the nature of the bee was changed.

Building and production became instinctual. "Welfare queens" became hive queens. Surrogate partnerships became worker and soldier castes. All that remained of males were literally drones. With the dynamism of sexual competition bred away and the full flowering of eusociality, the godlike light of consciousness was snuffed out and all that was became instinct to the bee and their related species.

They did not annihilate themselves as sapient races often do. Instead, the workers finally gained control of the means of production and the destiny of the race rested back into union with nature—as animals.
