Lamb stewed in the crockpot for several hours with potato, onion, leek, garlic, and carrot, in a veg stock with thyme and mixed herbs, paprika, and a pinch of mace. I also did some suet dumplings which cooked in the stock.
I had a glass of Chateauneuf du Pape with it.

Suet dumplings were a UK childhood staple in winter K.L. My grandmother and mother would make them in cold weather. 'They'll stick to your ribs' my gran would say..meaning they would keep you going all day...Yesterday was the first time I had made them for ages.

It's been ages since I've had dumplings and this has given me a craving, I'll have to make some this weekend

Breakfast: two slices of toast, one with marmite, the other marmalade. Cup of tea.
Lunch: Pasta with broccoli, cauliflower, carrot, and fennel. Salad leaves with beetroot, celery and a handful of unsalted peanuts. Mug of coffee.

Have you seen the new series of Marmite ads? Kids running out of the room shouting 'I hate it' etc.

I'm a huge fan myself...although I wouldn't go as far as my son who spreads it about 1/8 of an inch thick...

Love it, best way to enjoy marmite for me is pumpernickel bread with cheese and then dotting the cheese with marmite.
