Help a technotard?

Post by Simon E. »

Suppose there is a member who posts frequent threads on the TB forums on a subject/tradition I have no interest in.
Can I simply block those threads? I know I can block the member but that doesn't stop having to wade through a list of threads ...

Asking for a friend... 8-)

Would you share the answer with us, oh mighty genius from apple store? (No sarcasm really, I didn't even think about this possibility)

For those who do virtuous actions,
goodness is what comes to pass.
For those who do non-virtuous actions,
that becomes suffering indeed.

You just add them to your foe list. only threads they actually created should be showing up in the list of threads, unless they're incredibly prolific then I don't really see the problem. What did you figure out?

Meditate upon Bodhicitta when sad

Meditate upon Bodhicitta when suffering occurs

Meditate upon Bodhicitta when you are scared

I am not apologising for your learned hypersensitivity. It was not aimed at you or those with disabilities.

'Tard' is from tardy..slowness. And in terms of techie stuff I am tardy.

I've worked with men who'd paint the walls with their own shit. In the US, 'tard is slang for retard, now we say people have developmental, mental, or intellectual disabilities. Sensitive, yeah. A lot of pain there.

I dont live in the USA.
I don't come from the USA.
There is a whole wide world out there.

In UK English usage a bridegroom late for his wedding or a kid late for school might be described as tardy. It has no association with any prejudice against particular groups in society. It comes from the Latin 'tardus' meaning slow.

What any of that has to do with people painting their walls with shit I have absolutely no idea.

Just saying that that witnessing others’ suffering and being moved by it is different than learned hypersensitivity. None of this is to your OP though, no need to carry on w it
