NATURE

Post by kalden yungdrung »

Tashi delek,

Our Nature like the woods, sea side and mountains with its lakes, precious locations on our planet.

This Nature with its spirits, plants / trees , animals is in danger.
Many species are not anymore living there, a very sad thing.

But there are still wonderful things to see / watch.

From Wordsworth's "Tintern Abbey":

"For she [nature] can so inform
The mind that is within us, so impress
With quietness and beauty, and so feed
With lofty thoughts, that neither evil tongues
Rash judgments, nor the sneers of selfish men
Nor greeting where no kindness is, nor all
The dreary intercourse of daily life,
Shall e'er prevail against us, or disturb
Our cheerful faith, that all which we behold
Is full of blessings. Therefore let the moon
Shine on thee in thy solitary walk;
And let the misty mountain winds
Be free to blow against thee.."

Tashi delek T,

Thanks for posting and sharing with us this wonderful poem

In outer Nature
Inner Nature is at ease
In outer Nature everything is perfect
In inner Nature everything is perfect

Both share similarities somehow.

Tashi delek,

Amazing!
These humans saved the life of this turtle from a certain, slow and painful death. We watched this video at 2 times, so much we had trouble believing it...

Every object abandoned in nature is a trap for wild animals and poison for our land.
Therefore we should keep Nature clean.

Together don't let go. Thank you!

Tashi delek,

Many sea animals are trapped in fishing nets and in plastic.
Plastic is what they "eat" . The result is they die.

Plastic is a dangerous invention and should be stopped, what we can do by not using plastic anymore and making people attend on the dangerous effects of the use of it.

Tashi delek,

Greenpeace, everybody who is connected to our planet and its Nature knows this organisation.

==========================

The story that Greenpeace tells is that a better world is possible, and that brave individual and collective action can make that world a reality.
Raising a Wind Turbine in Durban. 26 Nov, 2011 © Shayne Robinson / Greenpeace

It's a positive vision, rooted in hope, and the conviction that when people in large numbers believe change is possible, change becomes possible. We believe that when we take Nature as our model, mentor, and measure, we can change the way we feed and fuel our world. We can live in harmony with the Earth and each other.

We believe optimism is a form of courage. We believe that a billion acts of courage can spark a brighter tomorrow.

To that end we model courage, we champion courage, we share stories of courageous acts by our supporters and allies, we invite people out of their comfort zones to take courageous action with us, individually in their daily lives, and in community with others who share our commitment to a better world.

A green and peaceful future is our quest. The heroes of our story are all of us who believe that better world is not only within reach, but being built today.

The demons we must wrestle are the stories that are holding back a better world: that change is "impossible", "too expensive", "naive", "impractical." Stories that are rooted in apathy, cynicism, and despair and tell all of us we're too small, too few, too weak to change the world. We believe the story of the human journey is better than that. That it's rooted in courage, optimism, and creativity. That when people who believe in those things band together, when they stand up and take action together, their courage is compounded, it becomes contagious. Their voices are amplified, their stories ripple out to change the world.

The old stories are failing us – the stories of infinite growth in a finite world. The stories that tell us we can consume our way to happiness.

The world needs a new story – a story in which humanity overcomes seemingly impossible odds to not only survive, but to thrive. A story in which healthy, abundant oceans and forests heal a world powered by the natural forces that have powered life on Earth for billions of years. A world fed on a delicious bounty of life-giving food and pure water. A story in which the vast and powerful engine of human ingenuity is redirected toward building a more beautiful future for all.

Be a part of that story.

We dare you.

Tashi delek,

The snow leopard a predator of the Himalayan range .
This animal has a long tail for balancing during his hunt.
The fur is also popular among poachers and we see many Tibetan Ngakpas dressed with this fur.

It's real.

Basically it all depends on the position of the hummingbird and its feathers.

Those articles are both about the iridescence of hummingbird plumage - neither of them suggest that hummingbirds can change color as is shown on that video.

'Chameleon skin has a superficial layer which contains pigments, and under the layer are cells with guanine crystals. Chameleons change colour by changing the space between the guanine crystals, which changes the wavelength of light reflected off the crystals which changes the colour of the skin.'

But doing the same with feathers would be a different matter. And also, hummingbirds are not native to China, but are found only in the Americas.

Pretty film, but I'm sure it's bogus.

Tashi delek W,

The fauna and flora world is a very fascinating world.
There are birds like the flamingo who gets that red color by eating fish , shrimps.
Sometimes colors are caused by eating certain food and sometimes not.

Pretty sure it is NOT bogus this certain bird ( Hummingbird ), which can change its colors so on a beautiful way, by every turn its making.

https://www.thedodo.com/hummingbird-cha ... 03628.html

Hope this will convince you, if not then this not a problem for me, then you can delete the hummingbird explanation here as bogus.

Best wishes

IN ADDITION:

To serve courtship and territorial competition, many male hummingbirds have plumage with bright, varied coloration[62] resulting both from pigmentation in the feathers and from prism-like cells within the top layers of feathers of the head, gorget, breast, back and wings.[63] When sunlight hits these cells, it is split into wavelengths that reflect to the observer in varying degrees of intensity,[63] with the feather structure acting as a diffraction grating.[63] Iridescent hummingbird colors result from a combination of refraction and pigmentation, since the diffraction structures themselves are made of melanin, a pigment,[62] and may also be colored by carotenoid pigmentation and more subdued black, brown or gray colors dependent on melanin.[63]

By merely shifting position, feather regions of a muted-looking bird can instantly become fiery red or vivid green.[63] In courtship displays for one example, males of the colorful Anna's hummingbird orient their bodies and feathers toward the sun to enhance the display value of iridescent plumage toward a female of interest.[64]

One study of Anna's hummingbirds found that dietary protein was an influential factor in feather color, as birds receiving more protein grew significantly more colorful crown feathers than those fed a low-protein diet.[65] Additionally, birds on a high-protein diet grew yellower (higher hue) green tail feathers than birds on a low-protein diet.[65]

Well, the web article says that is linked says that 'the bird's feathers never change color. It's the angle, not the feathers, that determine what color we see.' So that is unlike a chameleon in which the colour of the skin really does change.

Nature is indeed amazing, but I remain dubious of the 'Jean Huang' facebook video, at least, not without further verification. It seems obviously manipulated to me, and it says this bird was discovered in China, but hummingbirds are not found in China. It doesn't really matter, except that Facebook, and the internet generally, are sources of a great deal of disinformation so it's important that what we represent as being real, is actually real. I'm really not trying to troll, flame, or annoy you.

Tashi delek W,

OK hummingbirds are not found in China, that was Jean´s only mistake here.

Well , you denied in the beginning of your story that this changing of colors would not be possible at all, you call that bogus........
It does not the matter how you turn it, Jean Huang was right with her video , these birds can change their color somehow, which is now proven, by my explanations and you were wrong with your "bogus" assumption, that is the end of the story and i am not trying to troll / flame you too.
