Dubai and Buddhism

Post by kalden yungdrung » Fri May 17, 2019 3:47 pm

Tashi delek,

This is great news.

A Buddhist temple of Sri Lanka Theravada Buddhism in the emirate Dubai.
This must also then now possible in other Muslim countries.
I know that some people from Tunesia are attracted to Bön Buddhism, so there seems to be more tolerance now in the Muslim world towards Buddhism.

I hope.
Those who, even with distracted minds,
Entered a stupa compound
And chanted but once, “Namo Buddhaya!”
Have certainly attained the path of the buddhas.

-Lotus Sutra, Expedient Means Chapter

There are beings with little dust in their eyes who are falling away because they do not hear the Dhamma. There will be those who will understand the Dhamma.

Well... Dubai is not the norm for the Arabian world in more ways than one. But it's a good sign.
