Patrul Rinpoche's reference to Vajrasattva

Post by weitsicht »

Patrul Rinpoche explains a Vajrasattva Sadhana at length in the Words of my Perfect Teacher p.267 ff.
Apparently there are different versions of the Vajrasattva(-in-union) Sadhana.

Which one does he refer to?
Is it accessible online or in other literature?
I'd appreciate very much a copy that contains the Tibetan phonetics and English. It is more elaborate than the sadhana I practised to far.

Thanks for your advice.
Ho! All the possible appearances and existences of samsara and nirvana have the same source, yet two paths and two results arise as the magical display of awareness and unawareness.

Considering Words of my Perfect Teacher is meant for Longchen Nyingtik preliminary,i guess it is meant for Longchen Nyingtik ngondro?

yes, it's for the Vajrasattva section of the Longchen Nyingthig ngondro. to practice this, you would need to get the lung. In the Longchen Nyingthig it also considered important to get the empowerment. I think this is different from other ngon-dros. Also in the Patrul sung-gyud, Patrul Rinpoche's oral lineage for this ngon-dro, the better number of accumulations is 10 bum/1 million.

May question may be silly, apologies, still I Need to ask:

Are there several lungs for Vajrasattva or can I practise this one when I received another Transmission?

I think you have to get the lung for this particular sadhana in order to practice it.
“Observing samaya involves to remain inseparable from the union of wisdom and compassion at all times, to sustain mindfulness, and to put into practice the guru’s instructions”. Garchen Rinpoche

For those who do virtuous actions,
goodness is what comes to pass.
For those who do non-virtuous actions,
that becomes suffering indeed.

each sadhana has its own lung. you need to get that one to practice that sadhana.
