When is happiness important and when does that importance cease?
To become a rain man one must master the ten virtues and sciences.

I think if one's lack of happiness is an obstacle to Dharma practice then they should remedy that until they can practice Dharma being content with either happiness or suffering.
To become a rain man one must master the ten virtues and sciences.
