Electric Disturbances - Magic?

Post by Konchog1 »

Hello,

The last two weeks I've shocked myself three times and today the light was flickering in the room I was in.

I remember reading that this is a sign of spirit harm. Is that true?
Equanimity is the ground. Love is the moisture. Compassion is the seed. Bodhicitta is the result.

-Paraphrase of Khensur Rinpoche Lobsang Tsephel citing the Guhyasamaja Tantra

"All memories and thoughts are the union of emptiness and knowing, the Mind.
Without attachment, self-liberating, like a snake in a knot.
Through the qualities of meditating in that way,
Mental obscurations are purified and the dharmakaya is attained."

It was all the lights. Even my computer monitor turned itself off and on.

Did you see if the lights flickered at other houses as well and did you check your own fuses in your house?

Zen Master Seung Sahn said, “That’s simple. Atomic bombs come from the mind that likes this and doesn’t like that.”

Maybe it was a power surge. There are plenty reasonable explanations for this, I'd say magic is pretty low on the list.

I don't know about the Tibetan traditions, but I work with other traditions that deal with spirits extensively.
The first step is to check the standard physical explanations. Lights flickering once is not to odd, if it happens a lot then it is.
The second step (if needed) is to get a reading from someone qualified to check.

And I think you should probably get some kind of overvoltage protection thing for your computer, stereo and tv.
