The Road Trip
Re: The Road Trip
Thank you for posting the road trip report, the pictures, and travel tales. I'm very happy you will get to be at Tara Mandala for the Flight of the Garuda empowerments and retreat. That to me is most auspicious.
"Knowledge is as infinite as the stars in the sky;
There is no end to all the subjects one could study.
It is better to grasp straight away their very essence--
The unchanging fortress of the Dharmakaya."

I did not make the decision lightly at all. A number of auspicious things lined up perfectly which led to me making the decision to take the teachings.

As a younger man I used to go there with my girlfriend (now wife) on road trips from Albuquerque. I want to do nothing but hang out in a hot pool there for like a week.
Enjoy man, sounds like a blast, I'll actually be in Albuquerque soon, but it doesnt compare.

Re: The Road Trip
Next time i will grab a couple.
I didn't bring the camera cause i didn't want to get it wet, but I guess it's no big deal.
Also, the spring I visited is a pool that is just fed by a hotspring, so it's appearance is not very exotic.

I might be able to do that after the teachings. I am going to have to look into this. I am starting to get on a little bit of a limited time frame.Sherab Rigdrol wrote: ↑Wed Dec 13, 2017 9:39 pmHey Kevin, come on down to Santa Fe and visit our stupas!!

If you use the word 'mind' without defining your terms I will ask you politely for a definition.
This is not to be awkward. But it's really not self-explanatory.

The weather every day was perfect. And on the last day there was a light snow (just a few inches) and I drove away in snow.

Re: The Road Trip
Thank you. I was near "the real" South Park today (Fairplay Colorado) and I stopped for lunch. At a cafe in that small mountain town, which is not much different from my own, I got served chilli by a dakini, and it was amazing.

Re: The Road Trip
Looks like you had a great road trip. Which reminds me of the time I took a Greyhound bus from LA to Memphis for a teaching on the Heart Sutra. Not such a nice trip, but I learned a lot...on a broiling bus stranded in the Arizona desert with a bunch of misfits.

Re: The Road Trip
LOl, you learned a lot from the Heart Sutra or from the misfits on the bus?
