Tashi delek,
Man and woman, female and male that is running in the worlds of Samsara.
It is a normal aspect also in our world from today.
An interesting aspect if we consider that in general Buddhas are male, Dakinis female, Wisdom aspects female.
Sometimes we divide Nature in Kuntu Zangpo and Kuntu Zangmo , male and female.
- When did this dividing in male and female start, with what reason ?
- When and why is spoken of female and male?
- Can we maybe divide Nature in female and male aspects ?
- Are Buddhas in their status in their pure Realms really male ?
- Are there pure Realms of female Buddhas ?
- To be reborn in the pure Realm of a Buddha, would this be male , female or not female and not male ?
There are sure more aspects to discuss the endless female and male forms with their reasons, abilities, possibilities etc.
Nice to hear more about this topic also seen in the light of feminism.

Śākyamuni Buddha again called, “Empty Born, in your opinion, can it be said that the thirty-two marks and eighty subtle characteristics are the Tathāgata’s Dharma body?"kalden yungdrung wrote: ↑Thu May 17, 2018 12:38 pm - Are Buddhas in their status in their pure Realms really male ?
Because Subhāti understood the principle of emptiness, and because he had awakened to the emptiness of people and the emptiness of dharmas he said, “No. One should not rely on physical marks to see the Tathāgata. And why? The thirty-two marks and eighty subtle characteristics of which the Tathāgata speaks are marks of the physical body, not of the true, real Dharma body. The Tathāgata has certified to the substance of the principle, the Dharma body, so although he is endowed with physical marks, there is no attachment to them, nor can he truly be seen by means of those marks.
Some of those 32 marks seem to specify that a Buddha requires the appearance of having male sex characteristics, primary & secondary.
Obviously not on a dharma body.
Then, the monks uttered this gāthā:
These bodies are like foam.
Them being frail, who can rejoice in them?
The Buddha attained the vajra-body.
Still, it becomes inconstant and ruined.
The many Buddhas are vajra-entities.
All are also subject to inconstancy.
Quickly ended, like melting snow --
how could things be different?
The Buddha passed into parinirvāṇa afterward.

Re: Female and Male
My understanding is that they appear as male and female for the same reason that they appear humanoid, because they are manifesting in this way to benefit humans. If they were manifesting to sentient fungi they would probably look like that and not have a male or female aspect.kalden yungdrung wrote: ↑Thu May 17, 2018 12:38 pm

Tara has a pure land and there are many other female buddhas who should also have pure lands I suppose.

Thanks for your support.
Agree, it keeps Samsara rolling , new Minds can get a body to experience the human live.
Humanity seems to be important in Buddhsim.
They say that via the Human Body, enlightenment is obtained.
- Would the other sentient beings also know like humans a kind of sex and have "children" ?
About this is not so much written.

Maybe try the Aggañña Sutra.
