Lama Pema Dorje

Post by pemachophel » Thu Jul 05, 2018 8:06 pm

Kye ma! Kye hu!

The Dujom ngakpa, Lama Pema Dorje, entered parinirvana this morning.

A great loss to the Dudjom lineage as well as to all Nyingmapa.

Lama Pema Dorje was Lama Dawa Chodrak's older brother.

Another great teacher and practitioner in the Dudjom Tersar lineage passed away: Lama Pema Dorje Rinpoche (brother of Lama Dawa) passed into parinirvana this morning.

People have been advised to practice the Dudjom Tersar Vajrasattva (Dorje Sempa) on his behalf.

The man had many good qualities once you get past the laundry issue. You know Greg after the Drolod initiation my life turned crazy AF. I Still have yet to take it to the level of crazy as what I experienced around him.

I just don't think they knew about separating whites and colors in Tibet. Anyway, really a great teacher, huge effect on me.

Let's just consider the laundry as a holy relic that can be identified and revered, shall we? :anjali:

I just made the comment because almost every single ngakpa I know has ended up with a pink zen at some point in time.

I was informed that traditionally they would unstitch the zen and wash the parts separately before stiching it back together again. But the mass produced zen cannot be taken apart like this and...

May he reborn in the pureland of his choosing and may a thousand pink dakini drape him in celestial silks!

Very sad news. I found him to be a remarkable teacher and very kind person. His living physical presence will be missed very much. _(|)_

And fwiw, if you don't want your zen to go pink, when you first get it soak it in water and at least one cup of salt. It will set the dyes nicely & usually prevent color creep.

Strange how this thread turned to yogis exchanging laundry tips, but I like it. :D

I have no connection here, but still it is very sad to hear about passing of a good lama. I hope all his work bears immeasurable fruits and his disciples will spread the dharma.

The Dharma is quite often very practical including in matters of mixing water and earth. :)

Another great being has left our world again, I have only met him briefly, yet vividly, At Dungse thinley norbu Rinpoche's parinirvana.

A loss for the Buddhadharma in general, and the Vajrayana, and the Dudjom Tersar, in particular.

I had been wanting to see him again to receive some teachings, but alas, was not fortunate enough.

May Rinpoche take a swift rebirth, for the benefit of all beings.
