How to Start a Thanksgiving Funerary Retreat?

Post by Tenma » Sat Nov 10, 2018 5:09 am

So the annual slaughter of turkeys and other animals is coming up.

How does one start a proper retreat(preferably Amitabha, Ksitigarbha, Guan Yin, or any open non-empowerment deity) and what are the needed prayers? I would like to start doing things properly. Can a Purification of the 6 Lokas work as well for all students of Namkhai Norbu?

i'm afraid the best one can do for the slaugthered ones is to dedicate one's merits to them and this way make a conection and a pledge for them to end their bad karma; and/or do puja, thing that guarantee end of their samsara.

if you have an Avalokiteshvara practice, that's a match for your cause.
what are you doing

If you have not received specific practices for the dead, then dedicating the merit from any practice you happen to do serves as a source of merit for them, helps them to achieve liberation.
