Dzogchen masters I know say: 1)Buddhist religion essence is Dzogchen 2)Religions are positive by intent/fruit 3)Any method's OK unless: breaking Dzogchen vows, mixed as syncretic (Milanese Soup) 4)Don't join mandalas of opponents of Dalai Lama/Padmasambhava: False Deity inventors by encouraging victims 5)Don't debate Ati with others 6)Don't discuss Ati practices online 7) A master told his old disciple: no one's to discuss his teaching with some others on a former forum nor mention him. Publicity's OK, questions are asked from masters/set teachers in person/email/non-public forums~Best wishes

May all involved in this conflict awaken to bodhicitta and in the future know only kindness towards others. May those in the bardo know a swift auspicious rebirth and those who are still here know a swift resolution with a good end to these troubles.

There have been a long history of such conflicts in such areas Reference perhaps the Sino Tibetan war of the 1930's(one only mentioned). The initial attack by the Tibetan army in that war was in the Sichuan province. Assistance to the central chinese government was provided by the chinese warlord who held the Qinghai province. Fought in relationship to issues around monestaries it seems.

I'd suggest as usual the issues in these areas are quite diverse and require much study. Simplistic ideas such as this is the evil communists destroying or attempting to destroy the peacefull buddhists.....don't speak to the issues complex history.
This is all about power and control. China undoubtly acting wrongly in this specific but it must be c onsidered why they consider themselves not acting wrongly. HIstory in a asian context may not approximate histoty in a western context which encompasses basically what happened yesterday.

Hence the western misapprehensiions such as Vietnam being a chinese proxy to expand territory during its vietnamization of vietnam.
Truth be told historically china and vietnam were always enemies.Suchly within a few years after the end of the US Vietnam war china and vietnam were at war. So the supposition was wrong from the get go. LIkewise this is not a communist issue but a national issue though a totalitarian approach is being utilized by the chinese. Totalitarianism or authoritarian speaks of asian governmental action in a historical context most oftenly. Communism being only the name of the lastest version of totalitaranism. And nationalism. Two characteristics of asian govenments historically, authoritarian and nationalistic they usually are. Overtly so.
