Ani Choying made ambassador for N-Peace in Nepal

Post by swamiji »

Ani Choying, a world famous Buddhist nun and musician recently agreed to serve as an ambassador for N-Peace in Nepal. Her new promotional song, composed by Nihyoo Bajracharya and written by Durgalal Shrestha, celebrates femininity and the power of women as peace builders.

This song recognizes the strength of women as leaders, and calls for society to recognize women as equals. It appeals to women by saying; the time has come for women all over the world to believe in themselves and their potential. The song ends with an appeal to listeners to cast their vote for the N-PEACE award nominees.

Ani Choying is an internationally recognized singer who encourages women, including nuns, to become leaders in peace building. She was born in 1971 in Nepal and became a Buddhist nun at the age of 13. She travels extensively for her concert tours singing peace songs. With the funds generated from her concert tours and sale of CDs, she helps run the Arya Tara School for nuns, which she founded in 2000.
