Lotus Sutra Videos

Postby The Cicada » Wed Apr 05, 2017 9:56 pm

A Youtuber by the screen name of "acalaacala" (can't go wrong with a name like that,) has created an online reading of the entire Lotus Sutra. He also has other Sutra readings uploaded onto his channel, including the Vimalakirti Sutra.

Acalaacala is also collaborating with another YouTube channel that's collecting recordings of sutra recitations and adding text in English and Chinese for people to read. It's really a beautiful thing. They have don't have all of acalaacala's recitations uploaded yet, but they're getting there!

I've been listening to Acalaacala's recitation of the Lotus Sutra for a while, I love his voice. I don't know whether people know he has updated his original recitation of the Prof. Gene Reeves translation, which I found a bit clunky, with the BDK Tripitaka version, so thought I'd mention it. If anyone knows of a recording of the Burton Watson translation, I'd love to hear it as it has the Bodhisattva names in english.

It's great! I rejoice in the merit!
I listened to both versions of the 26th chapter, in the BDK version he recites the mantras!
