Miranda Shaw's Buddhist Goddesses of India, Princeton University Press, explains all the sutras Tara is in starting on page 314.

A User posted a few Sutras that Tara was associatted with Avalokiteshvara by middle age texts, are these texts more authoitative or authentic than the Tantra that says Arya Tara was a female who lived as a human and the monks and nuns prayed she would be reborn as a male so she could become a buddha but that Tara wanted to prove them wrong and became a Buddha in her life as a female and Vowed to become a Female boddhisatva forever?
