New Translation: Prajnaparamita in 10,000 Lines

Daśa­sāhasrikā­prajñā­pāramitā translated by the Padmakara Translation Group.

Summary wrote:While dwelling at Vulture Peak near Rāja­gṛha, the Buddha sets in motion‌ the sūtras that are the most extensive of all—the sūtras on the Prajñā­pāramitā, or “Transcendent Perfection of Wisdom.” Committed to writing around the start of the first millennium, these sūtras were expanded and contracted in the centuries that followed, eventually amounting to twenty-three volumes in the Tibetan Kangyur. Among them, The Transcendent Perfection of Wisdom in Ten Thousand Lines is a compact and coherent restatement of the long‌er versions, uniquely extant in Tibetan translation, without specific commentaries, and rarely studied. While the structure generally‌ follows that of the long‌er versions, chapters 1–2 conveniently summarize all three hundred and sixty-seven categories of phenomena, causal and fruitional attributes which the sūtra examines in the light‌ of wisdom or discriminative awareness. Chapter 31 and the final chapter 33 conclude with an appraisal of irreversible bodhisattvas, the pitfalls of rejecting this teaching, and the blessings that accrue from committing it to writing.

This perfection of wisdom of the victors is a great mantra of knowledge,
pacifying the misery and suffering of many kinds of sentient beings.
The guides of the ten directions, past and present,
having trained in this great mantra of knowledge, become unsurpassed physicians.

How excellent that this is available now and from Padmaraka.

I had a refresher with the shorter diamond sutra earlier this week and now this can follow :bow:

She recited all of them. The 8000,10000 , 25000 , 100000 verses, the perfection of wisdom in 1 syllable and so on.

Prajnaparamita in 8000 verses;

'So fond are the Tathagatas of this perfection of wisdom, so much do they cherish and protect it. Fot she is their mother and begetter, she showed them this all-knowledge, she instructed them in the ways of the world. From her have the Tathagatas come forth. Fot she has begotten and shown that cognition of the all-knowing, she has shown them the world for what it is. The all-knowledge has come forth from her. All Tathagatas, past, future, and present, win full enlightenment thanks to this very perfection of wisdom. It is in this sense that the perfection of wisdom generates the Tathagatas, and instructs them in this world.'

If any of you have not yet begun reading this then you really should!

There is absolutely no stone left unturned and it eally clarifies some of the more difficult to grasp aspects of Mahayana. It clarifies the doubts and misconceptions you know you have as well as the doubts and misconceptions you don't know you have.

It has cleared away some confusion and misunderstanding on many topics for me and helped point out various gross and subtle mistaken ways of settling the mind in meditation and in post-meditation/daily life.

Whether you are practicing Sutra, Tantra, Mahamudra, Dzogchen or the middle way, it will help you recognize the empty nature of phenomena and all categories of consciousness and/or enable you to uproot the subtle concepts that obscure the ongong continuity of that recognition. Even if you are practicing other forms of Mahayana, it will loosen any gross or subtle misconceptions or assumptions about the outer appearances and inner nature of your chosen system of dharma, the path you follow including what you yourself bring to meditation, devotion or your other practices.
