Shechen Karuna.

Post by muni » Tue Jun 22, 2010 8:46 pm

Since 2001 Karuna-Shechen has initiated more than 30 humanitarian projects, providing vital services to underprivileged communities in Nepal, Tibet, and India. To maintain those projects and develop new initiatives we need your help.

One example.
A hospice occupies a wing of Shechen Clinic where the elderly and terminally ill are taken care of in a compassionate and loving atmosphere. Our palliative care involves a holistic and multidisciplinary approach to treatment. Patients are made as comfortable and pain-free as possible and families are invited to participate in the caring process. It is a special place of sharing between the staff and the patients and their families. The staff is there to listen and to provide physical, psychological, social and spiritual relief. We try our best to allow our patients to die with dignity. This is possible thanks to our multidisciplinary team and our deep concern for them.
