Never ever give up! :jedi:

In the absence of decent leadership from higher levels of government (in the USA, here in Oz, and elsewhere) action on fracking and renewable energy is occurring at lower and lower levels ... go down far enough and you find participatory democracy actually works.
That latest earthquake http://www.naturalnews.com/055229_frack ... ahoma.html should have woken up a few more people to the dangers. And if you still haven't got much local support, organise screenings of Gaslands.

Disagree with the treehuggers. I'm all for fracking as long we have some standards put in place.

I take it that you have no children, or don't care about what kind of world they will inherit from you.

Both economy and environment matter to me hence why I said standards are needed.

The sad thing is regulation is difficult because companies won't say what the fracking liquid is citing corporate secrets.

It is all poison. That is why they won't say.

 I did a project on it at school and it was disturbing the impacts and how it's carried out.

Very sneaky work from these companies :spy:

All the evidence is that renewable energy is better for both the economy and the environment than fossil fuels.

Is the economy not dependent on the environment?

It is dependent on exploiting it unfortunately.

The tl;dr version is that unchecked climate change (i.e. unchecked fossil fuel consumption) will bring on something at least as bad as a major global depression akin to the 1930s one.

It is dependent on exploiting it unfortunately.
It is then not sustainable. To exploit something is to use it beyond its capacity to sustain itself. If we use the environment beyonds its capacity to sustain itself, the economy that depends on such an environment will collapse when the environment it has destroyed collapses. This is the lesson of the rise and fall of world civilizations since we have had records with which to track these things.

We, sadly, have learned nothing.

I say:

We have learned a lot but WE are not able to move it in the right direction (yet.....)
because WE are not the majority in companies and governments (yet.....).

It will take time but WE will take over.

A small ray of hope today:

And always recommendable to keep the spirits up:

Movie Erin Brockovich..., :woohoo:
and so on and so forth.

Keep the spirit up, people,
