I am going to be traveling over several states in the USA for work. I have done this more than once, but I have an odd feeling of apprehension about it now. I hope everything will go well and that we will arrive safely.

The Very Condensed Prayer That Purifies the Darkness of the 10 Directions

E-MA-HO
In order to purify the darkness of the 10 directions,
I prostrate to all the Buddhas living in the 10-direction [Buddha] Fields.
Wherever I go, whenever I travel in one of the 10 directions for whatever reason,
My journey will be successful, its purpose fulfilled, and I will have safe return.

Wherever I go, I prostrate to the Buddhas Who are above, below,
In the cardinal and intermediate directions.
May I have spontaneous success and be free from
Fear of enemies, bandits, fire, water, wild animals, etc.

May those Who turn the Wheel of Dharma in the 10 directions
Extend Their loving kindness and understanding to the beings living in the 10 directions.
In order to save the beings in the 10 directions from suffering,
May all the Buddhas of the 10 directions bestow good fortune.

Also, if you have received the Praises to the 21 Taras, you can say the specific praise to Odzer Chenma, i.e., number 21 I believe. You can say this 21 times each day before setting out. Actually, you don't even need to have received this. You can just find it on-line and say it. It'll still work.
