Interesting was told that the observer will get to a point it doesn’t know itself, yet there is the only remaining thing that knows.

might be more easily grasped if you simply equate it to the conscious interacting with the subconscious

Even at subtlety there is distraction-of dharma learning habit. This is where you kill your teacher and the Buddhas! Not literally of course!
