Hmm, thanks again. After more research I came to understand this too and will hold it as such.

It seems that plantlife experiences the cessation of feeling and perception constantly.

Yes, the experience of cessation and perception has occurred, and without warning, and not even thinking about cessation and perception or jhana, just sitting and maintaining the meditation practice, aware of the breath, aware of the sensation which changed to unpleasant, observing and not of the unpleasant, this is not mine, this I am not, this is not my self, the unpleasant sensation remains, stubborn, moved the attention closer to the sensation, drawn in, and like the flick of a light switch, there was a bright white light, no feeling or perception, nothing except awareness of the bright light, then an awareness of no body and an empty mind, then the emergence from that state, pure empty awareness, there is consciousness, body and mind, noticing the cognition from sense contact to reaction, part of the dependant origination, the experience is a confirmation of the emptiness of self, after further reflection the entire dependent origination is understood and known, as the construction of the being is witnessed having come from ground zero. So it appears the key is not to think or will, as it is written in the sutta.
