POTUS 2016

Post by DNS » Fri Sep 04, 2015 2:49 am

It's that time again. Time for another presidential election in the U.S. It is about one year away now, but with the U.S. being the 2nd largest democracy, self-proclaimed leader of the free-world, etc. the money raised needed nearing one billion USD; the race is already in full-swing. Since there are so many running for president this time, I have only included the current poll leaders and included Joe Biden, although he has not officially announced that he will be running. You can choose who you would vote for if you are voting or if you are not voting who you would like to see win (and this includes non-Americans too).

Ya, Bernie all the way! But I think that we the people probably aren't ready for him—he just speaks too much sense :P. Hillary will most likely get the nomination and if that happens, hopefully she wins. Anyone but one of those Republicans...

Hilary should have had it over Obama back in 2009, but now I think her feet are too muddy. Obama was always going to be able to waltz in whenever he wanted so the Dems sort of wasted a chance to have a safe 4 terms - to take full advantage of public sentiment at the time to put in the weaker candidate. I just do not get why Hilary used that private email service, I cannot understand her thinking to justify it, so... I have no opinion for 2016, yet!

The Bernster is polling well on DW.

Trump with Palin as Vice-Pres! Lets drive the meme to its absurd (but hopefully not inevitable) conclusion.

PS This wouldn't be my actual vote, in case the humour doesn't come across, not that I am eligible to vote in the US.

PPS Bernie is a Russian spy and besides he is Jewish and bald and wears glasses and is anti-American. Don't vote for Bernie, 'cause there is a slight chance than things might change. And we wouldn't want that.

There is no way Trump will ever win the election.

Let's put it this way — my dad is a conservative albeit moderate Republican. He hates Trump and will never vote for him. Trump is completely alienating the moderate Republicans. They won't vote for him. Trump is appealing to the crazy right wing of American Politics. No one has ever won a Presidency by appealing to the unhinged in the US, contrary to world opinion, they just don't have enough votes compared to blacks, latinos and white women.

It looks like landslide DW support (so far) for Bernie Sanders. He is too socialist for me, but I do like him on several important things:

* Opposed the Iraq War
* Opposed Patriot Act
* Pro-civil rights (marched with Dr. King and was arrested for civil disobedience in the sixties)
* Supports tuition free college education
* Supports universal health care
* Supports instant run-off voting (would allow greater possibility of someone other than 2 party system to get elected)

Bernie is about as socialist as FDR. The main difference? FDR was part of the NYC aristocracy, Bernie Sanders dad was a Jewish plumber who emigrated from Poland.

I voted for Bernie Sanders. Considering where I come from, his views aren't that outrageous to me...

Sure there is. He could run third party/independent splitting the Republican vote thus winning the election for the Dems.

Well, if Bernie does not win the primary, then I will vote for the Green Party again. So the Dems better well feel the Berne.
