Bernie Sanders CNN Town Hall

Post by Queequeg » Tue Jan 10, 2017 10:34 pm

With American politics turned into a B-Movie about a troll king who gets elected president, Bernie in one of his first major addresses since the convention, cut through the inane chatter with a swing of his adamantine determination. It was like a rupture of a movie, reminding you its all a put on. Like Sofia Coppola in Godfather III or Keanu Reaves in Dangerous Liaisons, performances that brought the suspension of belief to a jarring stop. But this was in a good way. At a time when we need the calliope music to stop Bernie's direct honesty was like a needle pulled off the phonograph.

Yep, he's been pretty much the only voice on sanity in mainstream politics since the election, IMO.

So Bernie keeps hammering the progressive agenda, but we need some foot soldiers to carry out the muck work and hand to hand combat. Schumer will keep laying on his nagging bit, but we need some real bastards. Someone like Rahm Emmanuel.

We'll see who emerges.
