You can try, but hard to justify the actions of bullies.

Trump isn’t a bully? After all, his button is bigger than Kim’s.

I hope the two don't start comparing buttons.

Sometimes you have to stand up to the bully, and it works.

I am sorry, but I think you have zero understanding of the real situation with respect to NK. You do understand we are mobilizing for a war there? In the very possible eventuality that hostilities do breakout we’ll be screwed, all of us.

Thanks for catching that. Forgot to add, "...and blame China." I'll leave it up to you to decide which is the worst offender of the two.

I don't think I've been able to get across how ghastly re-litigating the Korean War would be. Yochi Dreazen walks you through it. For starters:
I’ve spent the past month posing those questions to more than a dozen former Pentagon officials, CIA analysts, US military officers, and think tank experts, as well as to a retired South Korean general who spent his entire professional life preparing to fight the North. They’ve all said variants of the same thing: There is a genuine risk of a war on the Korean Peninsula that would involve the use of chemical, biological, and nuclear weapons. Several estimated that millions — plural — would die.

Even more frightening, most of the people I spoke to said they believed Kim would use nuclear weapons against South Korea in the initial stages of the fighting — not just as a desperate last resort.
Millions dying, and many of those millions killed or maimed by chemical weapons such as sarin or VX. Do you know what that shit does to people?
Stavridis said there was at least a 10 percent chance of a nuclear war between the US and North Korea, and a 20 to 30 percent chance of a conventional conflict that could kill a million people or more. Flournoy said President Trump’s tough talk about North Korea — which has included deriding Kim Jong Un as “Little Rocket Man” and threatening to rain “fire and fury” down on his country — made it “much more likely now that one side or the other will misread what was intended as a show of commitment or a show of force.”

Yes, yes. The nastiness of the outcome is well understood and being evaluated by the U.S. side. Really beside the point. If the U.S. is forced to defend itself from NK, it will. End of story.

I disagree. There are some on the US side who understand the gravity of the situation. HR McMaster is not one of them, unfortunately. As an aside, I have a book recommendation for McMaster. It's called Dereliction of Duty by HR McMaster.
If the U.S. is forced to defend itself from NK, it will. End of story.
The best defense in this situation is to ensure that nuclear, chemical, and biological weapons are not unleashed upon millions of people, among them US servicemembers and citizens, and US allies such as South Korea and Japan. The North Korean regime is AWFUL, and I'm no pacifist, but there's no way the "bloody nose" strategy McMaster is proposing will be helpful to anyone.

Trump is too much of a macho man randy savage for this but he should go and try talking it out with the north korean dictator face to face, if that still doesn't produce any positive results then...

I agree that the US President should be willing to meet with Kim in good faith. With that said...

Please don't disrespect my man Randy Savage by comparing him to the piece of human garbage that currently occupies the White House.

I am sorry, but I think you have zero understanding of the real situation with respect to NK.
You do understand we are mobilizing for a war there?
In the very possible eventuality that hostilities do breakout we’ll be screwed, all of us.
i fear you are right...but the we? i think it is a small group of militarists and trump .
Why is SK shaking hands with Kim's sister in front of the world.

Are they, the Two koreas, using the whole Olympic peace opening ceremony and joined team to put pressure to quash this intended war by the USA's administration as of late.

it certainly opposing views being put out ..and the Korea's seem to have very little say in what happens...

NK asked for oil to get a ferry back home...SK said it had to ask permission from USA.

the most precarious set of politics ever...

also i think the stock market is a real sign of what could happen, people are getting their money out slowly while making gains computer generated..for each rise of 300 you get a 1000 dump..it will go to 19,000 and hang there....gold will be at an all time high...people are heading for the hills...

What I had in mind was fallout and millions of dead Koreans. The stockmarket is hardly a consideration in the event true hostilities breakout.
